Sephora Studio | Newbury St Boston

On July 21, 2017, Sephora debuted their first concept store, formally known as Sephora Studio, is less than half the size of a normal Sephora store, clocking in at 2,000 square feet, but offers a more customized approach than any other Sephora store today. A carefully curated selection of Sephora’s favorite and most popular brands line the walls of their new 88 Newbury Street location in the heart of Boston. As you walk into the store, you are met with a line of vanity mirrors lined up back-to-back in the center of the Studio.

The employees that work at the Studio, known as cast members, were hand selected from Sephora stores nationwide to ensure an unparalleled service experience. As opposed to the singular expertise of normal Sephora cast members, Studio cast members must be experts in all areas of the Studio. This includes beauty classes, facials, makeovers, and mini facials and makeovers if you’re pressed for time. Many of these services are free if you are a member of Sephora’s rewards program, otherwise known as a Beauty Insider.

If you don’t want to take advantage of all the services at your fingertips, you can zip in and out for a replacement mascara with ease due to the lack of a centralized cash register. Instead, you can go up to any cast member and check out using their mobile device.

In addition to the cast member’s encyclopedic knowledge of skincare and beauty, the Sephora Studio is beauty in the Age of Technology. We are living in 2017 people, and it is time that our beauty reflects that. As many beauty lovers know, a good base is key. Sephora Studio also has a Digital Moisture Meter to find out what products your skin needs. Not only does the Studio come equipped with Pantone’s Color IQ technology, which can be found at nearly every Sephora location, but it uses this technology to create a Digital Custom Makeover where you can try out new looks and find your perfect shade without swiping and wiping 15 different colors on your face. Your face now has its own version of Cher’s computerized closet from Clueless – and that really is every beauty lover’s dream, after all.

The Dartmouth Company represented Sephora in this transaction. Sephora plans on opening three more Sephora Studios early next year.
